Boat & Brew – Smoketown Brewery Tour

Potomac River Kayaking to a Craft Brewery!
Kayak or Canoe 6 miles on this mellow section of the Potomac River that has been described in National Park literature as, “one of the most beautiful stretches of navigable waterways in the mid-Atlantic.” This is a stretch of an Audubon designated Important Bird Area, so look out for birds and habitat of all kinds. Visit sand and gravel beaches, wade or go for a swim, and explore the Catoctin Creek tributary as water levels permit.
Enjoy watching the eagles soar above and spotting the many other birds that call this area home.
Paddle on the Potomac River to Smoketown Brewery Itinerary
9:30 am Check-in at the Brunswick Family Campground store
10:00am Depart from the campground on the Potomac River after a brief introduction to paddling.
12:00 pm ish Take out at Point of Rocks and take the shuttle back to the campground.
12:30pm ish Arrive at the campground to change
1:30pm Car caravan 2 miles to Smoketown Brewery
1:45pm Back room tour of the brewery – flatbread pizza and micro brewery beer tasting
