Brunswick Community Festival

HOURS ARE: 4;30 TO 9 PM EACH DAY.

The Brunswick Community Festival is a fundraiser for the Brunswick High School FFA Alumni Scholarship Program and is held at the Burkittsville Ruritan Club, 500 E. Main St., Burkittsville, Maryland. The event is free for all to attend, no ticket purchase is required! *Note that some activities (petting zoo/bounce house, Ruritan food sales, etc.) will require on-site payments.

Please do not bring pets of any type to the event.

The headlining event will be the baked goods auction held on Saturday evening at 7, but we will have lots of family activities to keep you and your family entertained on Friday and Saturday from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. (Activities are subject to change)

• Food by the Burkittsville Ruritan Club (see menu below)
• Petting Zoo
• Pony Rides
• Inflatables
• Games
• Activities for kids of all ages (including butter making!)
• Honey Bee and other agricultural displays
• Trucks and tractors on display
• Pedal tractor track
• Home Comfort Band Friday night, 6:00-7:00 and 8:00-9:00 P.M.
• Music Saturday night will be via DJ
• Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull on Friday at 7:00
• The cake and baked goods auction starts at 7:00 on Saturday night inside the Ruritan building
• Silent Auction bidding will close on at 7:00 Saturday night.
• Baked goods and household entries will be accepted on Friday night from 5 to 7 PM and on Saturday from 9 to 11 AM. *Household and farm/garden entries must have been made/grown this year.

Burkittsville’s Ruritan Club is expected to be selling the following menu items on both evenings: (menu item availability and pricing is subject to change without notice)

• Baked/fried country ham sandwich ($5)
• Hamburger ($4)
• Cheeseburger ($5)
• Cheesebuger with country ham ($6)
• Hot dog ($3)
• Chili dogs ($4)
• Steamer ($4)
• Hot roast beef with gravy & fries ($12)
• BBQ pork sandwich ($6)
• Roast beef sandwich ($7)
• Bur Witch Sandwich ($7) (Cheeseburger w. fried ham and an egg)
• Their famous french fries! ($4)
• Bean Soup – (Bowl $4/Quart $9)
• Bowl of green beans ($2)
• Hand-dipped South Mountain Creamery ice cream (price not listed, but you know you’re going to buy a cup anyway)
• Water and soft drinks ($2)

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be selling apple dumplings! Get ’em while supplies last!

Entries will be accepted for homemade creative projects and baked goods on Friday from 5 to 7 PM. On Saturday, entries will be received from 9 to 11 AM.  Only one entry per category per person is permitted.   *Some entries may receive a participation award at the discretion of the judges due to the quality of the entry or the entry formatting. Judges decisions are final.

2 Youth Divisions and 1 Adult Division for all categories.

Baked goods will be displayed and auctioned off in the main Ruritan building and become the property of the Brunswick Community Festival upon entry acceptance.  All other entries will be displayed in the festival tent and will need to be picked up on Saturday evening by the exhibitor.

Baked Goods Auction will begin at 7:00 Saturday evening.

Silent Auction bidding will close at 7:00 Saturday evening.
