Frederick Bird Club – Bird and Nature Walk
April 27, 2025 @ 8:30 am – 10:30 am
Free
Please join the Frederick Bird Club for a free bird and nature walk on April 27 @ 8:30 AM at Gambrill Mill (Monocacy National Battlefield). This walk will be a part of the City Nature Challenge of Washington DC Metro Area and we will be collecting data on the I Naturalist and Ebird apps. If you choose to download one or both apps, there will be someone who can assist/educate you in its use.
Now in its tenth year, the City Nature Challenge is an international community science event, motivating people around the world to find and document wildlife. For the first time, Frederick County residents will join the Washington DC Metro Area team to participate in this bioblitz-style competition where cities and regions are in a friendly contest with each other to see who can make the most observations of nature, who can find the most species, and who can engage the most people.
During the Challenge, the Frederick community will observe and identify as many species of wild animals, plants, and fungi. To learn more about the Challenge visit: https://www.mobilizefrederick.org/city-nature-challenge
So please join us to simply bird watch and/or assist in our citizen science data collection. For further information or to let Sarah know if you can make it contact: [email protected]
