Volunteer to Help Water and Weed at the Food Bank Garden

There is a Foodbank Garden at the Brunswick Crossing Community Garden (a community garden available to everyone in Brunswick) and we are always looking for people to come and help us weed. We meet on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings, once things have cooled off at 7:00 PM, but feel free to come any time you want. We are combating Canada thistle (see the picture above) and grass in the plots. We are leaving the purslane and any chickweed as a living mulch. Pull the weeds near the vegetable plants, but leave the rest. Just pull off the heads of the Canada thistle, we are deplete their roots of energy…slow and steady, that’s our mantra.
